YellowStraps was created by two Belgian self-taught brothers (Alban & Yvan Murenzi) drawing influences from their travels early on. Born in Rwanda, raised in Uganda, and living in the melting pot that is Brussels, ever since.

YellowStraps was created by two Belgian self-taught brothers (Alban & Yvan Murenzi) drawing influences from their travels early on. Born in Rwanda, raised in Uganda, and living in the melting pot that is Brussels, ever since.

They have always been busy conjuring up a very particular sound mixing many styles like Jazz, Soul, Hip-hop & electronic music.

• In 2014 the band won the Award of Most Promising Artist at Redbull Elektropedia.
• 2016 is the year they dropped ‘MELLOW’, a first album in collaboration with famous producer Le Motel.   
• In 2018 YellowStraps’ 3rd release, ‘BLAME’, came out on Majestic Casual Record.

From the first EP being picked up by Belgium's favourite Dj LEFTO to steadily playing on more and more on stages, in renowned venues such as: Botanique, Ancienne Belgique, Het Depot, De Vooruit, Arenberg, Muziekodroom and also famous festivals like Dour Festival, Pukkelpop, Horst Festival, Les Ardentes, Brussels Summer Festival, etc.

The duo has now totalled over 1M plays for ‘Blame’ EP on YellowStraps’ Spotify and a new single ‘ROSE’ released in June 2019 on ColorsxStudios. Their discography tallies 5M plays across platforms.

Top Youtube channels (Majestic Casual, The Sound You Need, College Music, etc.) and international music blogs such as Complex, Earmilk or Highclouds, have already picked up on the duo’s releases to date.
